The E-commerce Revolution Has Emerged

Ever since I published the very first post for this blog, I’ve been saying that the Internet is the greatest provider of opportunities that has ever been available to anyone. The reason that I say this is because the Internet has made it possible for many other technologies to emerge that allow anyone with an internet connection to easily create their own online businesses virtually over night.

One such technology is that of e-commerce platforms. These types of platforms enable the vast majority of people to purchase just about any product or service that they want to, and because of this, more and more people are doing their shopping online. This has created opportunities for anybody with web access to open their own online stores without having to invest any capital in many cases.

There are dropshipping platforms, print on demand companies, internet retailers like Amazon, online auctions, and several other platform types. Over the next few months, we’re going to be exploring the many different types of e-commerce platforms that are available for you to start your own online store with, along with the many different types of products that people are successfully selling on these platforms.

If you’ve ever wanted to own your own store, there are more opportunities available now than ever before to do so, and you don’t need any capital to set up shop. Since the late 90’s a revolution has been taking place, a revolution that can rightfully be named The E-commerce Revolution.

The Applications Industry

To kick off this series, I’m going to begin by discussing some business opportunities that are available in the mobile apps industry.

Currently, there are over 2.7 billion smartphone users worldwide, so it is no surprise that the mobile app industry is one that is thriving, and app usage is still growing at a steady rate with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Studies show that the average person checks their phone every 12 minutes. We use our phones at home,  at work, on the street, while we’re eating, in our beds, and even in our cars.

So what is it that everyone is doing on their mobile devices? Research shows that 90% of mobile time is spent on apps. This is excellent news for you if you own an app or plan on having one developed. If the mobile app industry sounds like something that you would be interested in looking into, here are some more stats for you to consider:

  • Mobile apps are expected to generate $189 billion of revenue by 2020.
  • 49% of people open an App 11+ times each day.
  • 57% of all digital media comes from mobile apps.
  • The average smartphone owner uses at least 30 apps each month.

After reading these statistics, it should be apparent to you that there is an incredible amount of opportunity available in the mobile app game to those who would capitalize on it. If you have some great ideas for mobile apps, and if you know where to find the necessary resources to have your ideas developed, then you can claim your own share of this multi-billion dollar industry.

We are going to kick off this blog series by discussing how you can have your apps developed for little or no money, how you can monetize those apps, and where you can sell your apps for a very nice profit.

Developing & Monetizing Your Apps

Having a mobile app developed might sound like something that is extremely expensive and complex, but thanks to some of the technologies available today, this is not the case. There are resources available that have made it so that you don’t have to know a lot about coding, nor do you have to have a bunch of capital to invest in order to get an app developed. In fact, there are online platforms available that actually enable you to create apps for free, and they are so user friendly, that no coding skills are required. Let’s take a look at some of these platforms.

App Yet

With this platform, you can have an android app created for your blog or website free of charge. You are free to list the apps that you have developed for sale, or list them in the Google Play Store.

Apps Geyser

Free and simple tool to create, download, distribute, and monetize your apps. Here you’ll find 70+ templates to create your app in 2 minutes without needing any coding skill whatsoever. You’ll also find a library of step by step tutorials that will show you how create, publish, and monetize your apps.

Create apps for free with no coding required. Mobincube monetizes your apps for you with ad networks that they have partnered with. Everytime users click on one of the ads shown in your app, you get paid.

Create database powered apps in minutes. No coding required.

Appy Builder

App Creator 24

The app builder made for internet marketers. Create, publish, and make money with your own mobile apps and games. No coding skills required.

Apps Bar

Another free app builder that enables you to create any kind of app you want for any operating system.

Mobile App Flipping

If you don’t want the responsibility of having to maintain your apps and keep them updated, you can always create apps to be sold, instead of creating them to be monetized. Although you can sell your apps for an even higher profit if you monetize them first before attempting to sell them.

If you put in the time and the effort to build a really great app, and then take the additional time to get that app monetized with the right ad networks, you may end up being able to sell your app for a small fortune (or a large fortune in some cases).

If app flipping is something that you are interested in, then you should know that there is actually a handful of app markets available where you can list your apps. I’m now going to discuss a few of these platforms where you can list your apps for sale.

App Holdings

This is a platform that will purchase your app or app portfolio from you directly, but it does have some steep requirements. Here is what App Holdings is looking for:

  • A minimum of 50K downloads per month
  • 4.2+ star rating
  • Fun and unique apps
  • Prefer apps that have been in the store for at least 6 months, and have a steady number of downloads
  • No bought or paid for reviews or ratings

If  you have any apps that meet the above requirements, then App Holdings is prepared to spend anywhere from $50,000 to $4,000,000 for each app they purchase.

App Split

This is a crowdfunding platform specifically for apps so that you can raise any capital needed to turn your app ideas into reality. App Split also has an app marketplace where you can list your apps for sale.

Apps Buyout

This is another company that acquires apps directly from app owners and creators. Like App Holdings, your app must be getting at least 50K downloads per month in order for Apps Buyout to consider purchasing it.

Chupa Mobile

This is another app building platform where you can have apps developed for both Android, and IOS. They also offer an app marketplace where you can list your apps for sale.

Sell My App

Yet another platform that enables you to create your own apps using one of the designs from their library of templates. Sell My App also has a marketplace to list your apps for sale.

Slide Me

Marketplace for Android apps. List your apps for sale, or put them on the platform for users to download.

I hope that this post has made you realize how much opportunity is available to you in the mobile apps industry. Do not let a lack of coding skills or a lack of capital keep you from doing something great with your life. If you know of any other app development platforms, or app markets that should’ve been mentioned in this post, please mention them in the comments below.
